Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Mutton - 1 kg
  2. Finely sliced onion - 5
  3. Ginger garlic paste - 2 tbsp
  4. Red chilly powder - 2 tsp
  5. Red chilly powder - 2 tsp
  6. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  7. Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  8. Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
  9. Bay leaf - 1 - 2
  10. Green cardamom - 2 - 3
  11. Black cardamom - 1
  12. Mace - one piece
  13. Nut meg - one piece
  14. Cinnamon - 1 inch stick
  15. Cloves - 3 - 4
  16. Black pepper - 2 - 3
  17. Curd - 1/2 cup
  18. Cashew nut paste - 2 tbsp
  19. Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
  20. Salt - to taste
  21. Clarified butter - 4 tbsp
  22. Oil - 1/2 cup

Instructions

  1. Dry roast the whole garam masala.
  2. Heat oil and clarified butter in a pan.
  3. Add sliced onion and fry till pink and strain it.
  4. Once cooled to make a fine paste of fried onion and roasted garam masala.
  5. Heat oil and clarified butter in a pan.
  6. Add mutton pieces and cover it and cook in a slow flame
  7. When water absorb it and mutton pieces were fried keep aside.
  8. Heat clarified butter and oil in a pan.
  9. Add ginger garlic paste and saute for one to two mins.
  10. Now add coriander powder,red chilly powder,turmeric powder,,kashmiri mirch powder and mix well.
  11. Whisk the curd and add in the pan
  12. Add fried onion and whole garam masala paste and saute for 4 - 5 mins
  13. Add cashew nut paste and mix well.
  14. Add fried mutton pieces and mix well.
  15. Add one cup of water and cover it and cook in a slow flame for 20 mins.
  16. Add garam masala powder and salt and mix well.
  17. Serve hot with chapati or naan.
