Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Black chana 250 gramms
  2. Chat masala, mango powder, salt to taste...
  3. Red chilly powder or white pepper powder... 1/2 tea spoon
  4. Oil.. 1 table spoon
  5. Tomato, cucumber, onions... 1 each
  6. Green chillies.. 2 finely chopped
  7. Green coriander leaves, finely chopped.. 1 tea spoon
  8. Juice of 1 lemon


  1. Wash the chanas and soak them with soda overnight. In the morning take them out of water and cook in cooker till one whistle. Seive all the excess water from chanas and keep these in fridge for 6 hours. Or keep them under fan so that chanas are moisture free
  2. Now place the chanas on a flat surface. Grease the rolling pin with little oil and roll all the chanas flat
  3. Keep pan on the gas with oil and when the oil is hot enough, put flat chana and roast these on a very low flame for 8 to 10 minutes or till done.
  4. On the pan
  5. Mix all the masalas and when cool enough, store in an air tight container
  6. At the time of serving add tomato, cucumber, onions etc. green chillies, coriander leaves, lemon juice and chutneys, if using, and enjoy chatpata chana jor garam
