Ingredients to make Kande pohe

  • 3 cup poha/puffed rice
  • 2 medium size onions
  • 1 teaspoon rai
  • 1/2 teaspoon jeera
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon haladi powder
  • 2-3 tablespoon oil
  • 20-24 peanuts
  • 6-7 curry leaves
  • Fine chopped coriander 3-4 tablespoon
  • 2 tablespoon lime juice
  • 3-4 chillies chopped
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • salt as per taste
  • Grated coconut or naylon sev for garnishing

How to make Kande pohe

  1. Wash the poha/puffed rice &drain out water &keep aside for 5 minute
  2. Heat the oil in kadai/pan
  3. Add rai,jeera&let it crack
  4. Add peanuts &fry them on medium flame
  5. Add curry leaves&chillis
  6. Add chopped coriander or u can separately fry coriander &add while serve it gives nice test &texture
  7. Add chopped onions&saute them until transparent
  8. Add haldi powder
  9. Add soaked poha
  10. Mix it well
  11. Add salt ,sugar&lime juice
  12. Mix well &cover the lid
  13. Cook for 2-3 minutes on medium flame
  14. Serve with slice of lime&grated coconut or nylon sev.

My Tip:

You can add 2 tablespoon of milk at last .Also potatos instead of onions as gujarati breakfast
