ABOUT Gahat ke Paranthe RECIPE

This parantha comes right from the kitchen of Uttarakhand. Prepared by stuffing Gahat Dal(a special brown lentil) in the wheat and mandua flour (Ragi), Gahat ke Paranthe make excellent breakfast option in Uttarakhand. They can be served with the Bhang ki Chutney.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Horse gram (Gahat)- 1 cup
  2. Garlic- 4-5 cloves
  3. Ginger- 1 inch piece
  4. Chillies-1-2 nos.
  5. Salt- to taste
  6. Coriander leaves – 1 tbsp (Chopped)

  1. Soak gahat ki daal overnight or for 4 to 5 hours. Boil it by adding little salt in it. Drain excess water (Do not throw this water as it is considered a remedy for removal of stones from our body.) Grind the boiled pulses with garlic, ginge
