The time taken while preparing Khaman is 15 minute. This recipe of Khaman is perfect to serve 4. Khaman is just the appropriate option to prepare when you have a get together or night party at home. Ingredients to make Khaman

  • besan 2 cup
  • Sour curd 1 cup
  • salt as per taste
  • turmeric powder 1/4 tea spoon
  • Mustard seeds 1/4 tea spoon
  • Sugar 5 tea spoon
  • Medium size green chillies - 5-6
  • Eno- 1 sachet
  • Lemon juice - 1 tea spoon
  • Oil- 2 tea spoon
  • water -3 cup

How to make Khaman

  1. Take besan in bowl . Add salt , turmeric powder.
  2. Slowly slowly add curd . Stir this batter . Add one cup water and make batter not so running and not so thick.
  3. Keep this batter covered for 2 hours
  4. After 2 hours stir this batter and add eno and mix well.
  5. Pour this batter to greased mould just after adding eno.
  6. Now steam this batter.
  7. Check after 10 minutes with knIfe . If it sticks to knife then again steam it for few minutes.
  8. Now bring it out and cool at room temperature and cut into pieces.
  9. Take oil in pan. Heat it.
  10. Add mustard seeds. When mustard seeds stop cracking sound. Add chopped green chillies , sugar, lemon juice, 2 cup water.
  11. When this water starts boiling and sugar dissolved completely , turn off gas
  12. Pour this water to cut pieces of khaman evenly.
  13. Khaman is ready to serve .

My Tip:

We can garnish with green coriander or can add mitti neem while tempering.
