ABOUT Amiri Khaman/Sev Khaman RECIPE

It's a spicey crumbled Khaman Dhokla mixture which is tempered and eaten with sev.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Khaman Dhoklas- 20 no.
  2. Oil- 1 tbsp
  3. Mustard seeds- 1 tsp
  4. Sesame seeds- 1 tsp
  5. Asafoetida- a pinch
  6. Curry leaves-5-6
  7. Green chillies- 2 no.
  8. Onion- 1 medium size
  9. Garlic- 5-6 pods
  10. Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
  11. Salt- Little
  12. Powder sugar- 2 tsp(Optional)
  13. Corriander to garnish
  14. Fresh coconut to garnish
  15. Pomegranate seeds to garnish


  1. Take oil, add mustard seeds. When they splutter, add sesame seeds, curry leaves, asafoetida and green chillies.
  2. Now saute onion and garlic till colour changes.
  3. Crumble khamans with hands only and add in oil mixture.
  4. Add turmeric powder, little salt and mix. Add powder sugar here if want to.
  5. Serve in a plate. Garnish with coriander, fresh coconut, pomegranate seeds and Sev in the last.
