ABOUT carrot rava upma RECIPE

A regular in south indian home.Rava upma is versetile and easily digestible form of breakfast suitable for both young and adult.It burst out its aroma with only less than 4 ingredients.I tried it with just musturd ginger and curry leaves.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1cup rava
  2. 3cup water
  3. 1onion chopped
  4. 1/2cup grated carrot
  5. 1tsp:musturd,ginger,curry leaves
  6. 1tbsp oil


  1. Dry roast rava for 5-7 min till fragrant
  2. heat oil and add musturd and wait to splutter
  3. add ginger and curry leaves and fry for a min
  4. add chopped onion and cook till trasparent for 4-5 min and then add carrot and cook covered for 5 min
  5. add rava and roast for 2-3 min to combine all
  6. Boil water and add to the rava and cook covered for 3-4 min till fully.
  7. Turn gas off and leave for 5-7 min.serve hot
