Finger millet and horse gram dosa

Ingredients to make Finger millet and horse gram dosa

  • Finger millet soaked for one hour 1cup
  • Horse gram soaked for eight hours 1cup
  • Parboiled rice soaked for one hour 1/4cup
  • Sour curd 1/4cup
  • onions finely chopped 1nos
  • coriander finely chopped 1nos
  • green chillies finely chopped 2nos
  • salt to taste
  • oil for shallow frying
  • Carrots, tomatoes can be added if preferred 1nos each

How to make Finger millet and horse gram dosa

  1. Grind the soaked horse gram, finger millet and rice into a dosa batter consistency
  2. Add curd and salt and let it stay for twenty minutes
  3. Now heat one tsp of oil on a Tawa add onions, chillies, preferred other veggies, coriander leaves and saute for few minutes.
  4. Add this mixture to the prepared batter and mix well
  5. Now the dosa batter is ready, place a dosa Tava, heat it and add a ladle of batter and spread the same in circular movements.
  6. Allow it to get cooked on both the sides well, add a few drops of oil around the dosa to make them crispy.
  7. Now serve the traditional finger millet and horse gram dosa with coconut chutney or tomato chutney.

My Tip:

Ghee can be added while making dosa if it's fed to toddlers or children.
