ABOUT Whole Wheat Bhaturas.... RECIPE

A tasty variation to the popular breakfast item. Wheat flour is a better alternative to the plain flour or maida. These bhaturas are as super soft and as fluffy as those made with maida. Infact these are much more healthier too. Roll them with light hands and you will end up with fluffy puffed up bhaturas or pooris. Happy Frying !!!!!!!!!

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Whole wheat flour 3 cups
  2. Oil 2 tbsp
  3. Salt 1 tsp
  4. Water 1 1/2 cups


  1. Sieve wheat flour once.
  2. Add it to a mixing bowl with salt and oil.
  3. Mix it well until it looks like breadcrumbs.
  4. Add water little by little and knead a smooth dough.
  5. Quantity of water depends upon the quality of the flour taken.
  6. So do not panic and add less or more water accordingly.
  7. Keep the dough aside for 15 minutes.
  8. Heat oil for frying the bhaturas.
  9. Divide the dough into golf sized balls.
  10. Roll them with light hands.
  11. Deep fry in hot oil on both the sides.
  12. Keep an eye while frying.
  13. Check the oil temperature too.
  14. If it is too hot, reduce it a bit and if it has become less hot, increase the flame accordingly.
  15. It is advisable to roll all the bhaturas and keep them covered with a cloth.
  16. Deep fry all one by one at the same time.
  17. Serve them hot with aaloo ki sookhi sabzi as i did or chole masala.
