ABOUT Shivamogga(Karnataka) pride Akki Roti with Sabji RECIPE

Akki Roti is a delicious low fat and more protein rich Traditional food of Shivamogga( A place in Karnataka).It is mainly prepared from the Rice flour with boiled water added to it and baked like chappathi. No usage of Oil at all which is very tasty and yummy when served hot with sabji.It is a wholesome food rich in protein and iron and it is meant to be the Authentic Traditional breakfast of Karnataka.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Rice flour 1 cup
  2. Water half a cup
  3. salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Take rice flour of 1 cup in a bowl and add the boiled water to it and make a dough and keep it aside for 10 mins. Now like you do for the chapathi its the same procedure but no applying oil.
  2. Keep a pan ready in medium heat and make small lemon sized balls out of the dough prepared
  3. flatten each one and make a chapathi type round shaped
  4. put the flatten one on to the pan and apply water all over and flip aside and your akki roti is ready.
  5. Serve it with any sabji you wish to have. I have used cluster beans as sabji for akki roti.
