ABOUT Chuda matar RECIPE

This is traditionally make in Varanasi during winter season. In winter if you visit Varanasi , you will get chuda matar in breakfast at each and every house. Chuda matar is the combination of fresh green peas , poha and fresh kutta garam masala and some dry fruits.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 1. Mota poha - 250 gm
  2. 2. Green peas - 200 gm
  3. 3. Badi ilaychi - 2
  4. 4. Laung - 4 to 5
  5. 5. Kali mirch - 10 to 12 balls
  6. 6. Bay leaf - 1
  7. 7. Kaju - 8 to 10
  8. 8. Kishmish - 15 to 20
  9. 9. Green chili - 2
  10. 10. Ginger - 1 tsp
  11. 11. Sugar - 2 tbsp
  12. 12. Milk - 3 to 4 tbsp
  13. 13. Desi ghee - 4 to 5 tbsp
  14. 14. Coriander leaves
  15. 15. Cumin seeds- 1 tsp
  16. 16. Salt as per taste

Instructions

  1. Wash the Poha with water and drain all the water completely.
  2. Put the milk over washed Poha as Poha becomes more soft.
  3. Now make course powered of mentioned garam masala.
  4. Sprinkle the prepared garam masala, sugar and little of salt all over the soaked Poha and mix well.
  5. Keep this prepared Poha aside.
  6. Now heat the desi ghee in pan and add cumin seeds.
  7. Add green chilli and ginger into it.
  8. Now throw some kaju and kishmish and stirr it.
  9. Then add green peas and add some salt and sugar.
  10. Now cover with lid and stirr occasionally till it becomes cooked.
  11. When green peas becomes cooked add soaked Poha and mix well and cover.
  12. After 5 to 6 min add chopped green coriander leaves.
  13. Serve hot with Haldiram bhujiya Sev.
