ABOUT bread poha RECIPE

An everyday food of Maharashtrians, Poha is loved all over the country and often enjoyed as a breakfast of snack. Here, the regular Poha recipe has been adapted for bread cubes.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. brown bread- 1 pack
  2. chopped green chillies -2
  3. chopped onion -1
  4. rai -1 teaspoon
  5. curry leaves -4-6
  6. oiul as required
  7. salt as required
  8. chopped capsicum -1
  9. carrot chopped -1
  10. peas - as your taste
  11. tomatoes chopped -1
  12. lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a broad non-stick pan and add the mustard seeds.
  2. When the seeds crackle, add the curry leaves and sauté on a medium flame for a few seconds.
  3. Add the onions and green chillies and sauté on a medium flame for 2 minutes. Add the capsicum and sauté on a medium flame for 2 minutes.
  4. Add the turmeric powder and tomatoes and sauté on a medium flame for 2 minutes. Add the bread pieces, salt and garam masala, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
  5. Switch off the flame, add the lemon juice and mix well. Serve hot
