ABOUT Radha Bhallavi..... RECIPE

It is basically stuffed poori ( stuff should be Hing & Urad dal), a typical Bengali delicacy, serve in breakfast or lunch/ dinner in festival or function.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For staffing
  2. Urad dal - 1 cup water soaked and dry
  3. HING-1 tbsp
  4. For dough
  5. Flour - 2 cups
  6. Ghee - 1 1/2 tbsp
  7. salt as per taste
  8. Water as per requirement
  9. Oil for fry
  10. For chana dal
  11. Chana dal - 1 1/2 cup boiled
  12. Ghee - 1 tbsp
  13. Cumin Seeds - 1 Tsp
  14. Bay leaves - 2 nos
  15. Red chilly- 2 nos
  16. Chopped ginger - 1 tsp
  17. Hing - 1/2 tsp
  18. Red chilly powder -1/2 tsp
  19. Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  20. Sugar - 1/2 tsp
  21. salt as per taste
  22. FOR POTATO CURRY
  23. Boiled potato- - 2 cups , cut into small cubes
  24. Oil - 1 tbsp
  25. Onion seeds ( kalonji) - 1/2 tsp
  26. Red chilly- 2 nos
  27. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  28. Red chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
  29. Salt

Instructions

  1. In low flame fry the wash and dry dal with hing till colour of dal becomes light brown. Cool it and make it fine powder.
  2. Make dough of Maida along with ghee and keep for 15 - 20 minutes.
  3. Make small ball from the dough, stuff with powdered urard dal and roll in the form of poori .
  4. Fry and serve with chana dal and potato curry.
  5. Chana dal
  6. Heat ghee, add all the dry spices, chopped ginger, fry for two minutes and add boiled chana dal, salt ,sugar,red chilly powder and turmeric powder. Cook for another 5 minutes. Ready
  7. Potato curry
  8. Cut the boiled aloo in small cubes.
  9. Heat oil add kalonji and whole chilly for tadka. Add pieces aloo ,salt and turmeric powder. Fry for 2-3 minutes. Add Water and cook for 5 minutes and serve.
