ABOUT Carrot and poppy seeds paratha RECIPE

A delicious amalgamation of flavours, a yummy and interesting paratha for breakfast to be served with some curd and chutney.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Wheat flour - 1 cup
  2. Grated carrot - 1 cup
  3. Cinnamon powder - 1/4 tsp
  4. Red chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
  5. Salt - to taste
  6. Asafoetida/hing - a pinch
  7. Poppy seeds/khuskhus - 2 tbsp
  8. Clarified butter/ghee - 4 tbsp


  1. Take a large bowl combine all above listed ingredients and also add one tbsp clarified butter.
  2. Make a soft dough.
  3. Keep aside for 15 mins
  4. Divide the dough into equal size balls.
  5. Place the paratha over the hot pan as soon as looks like brown.
  6. Flip over and cook on the other side till brown.
  7. Applying clarified butter on both the sides.
  8. Take off the pan and serve hot.
