ABOUT Healthy Oats & Mango Kheer RECIPE

A healthy concoction of Oats & Mango made into a milk based dessert.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 500 ml low / full fat milk
  2. 2 tbsp. oats
  3. 1 tsp. ghee (opt)
  4. 2 bay leaves
  5. 2-3 cardamoms
  6. 2 tbsp. sugar or to taste (brown sugar can also be used)
  7. 1 & 1/2 cup mango pulp
  8. 1/2 cup chopped dry fruits (save some for garnishing)
  9. 1/4 tsp. cardamom powder
  10. 1 tbsp. rose water
  11. pinch of saffron soaked in 1 tsp. water.

Instructions

  1. Keep the chopped dry fruits aside.
  2. Keep the mango pulp aside.
  3. Heat ghee in a pan and lightly roast the oats for a minute. Transfer to a plate and keep aside.
  4. Bring the milk, bay leaves and cardamoms to a boil.
  5. Add the oats, sugar, cardamom powder and......
  6. .......chopped dry fruits. Simmer on a medium flame for 4-5 minutes by stirring continuously. Keep aside to cool.
  7. Discard the bay leaves. Now add the mango pulp and rose water.
  8. Mix well.
  9. Serve chilled, garnished with chopped nuts and saffron water.
