ABOUT Jaggery Bread Halwa RECIPE

Yet another reason to feast on our favourite dessert, Halwa! Sugarfree and with minimal /leftover ingredients, this halwa is easy to prepare and will be loved by all!

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. bread slices 8-10
  2. Ghee 100 gm
  3. Jaggery 75gms
  4. Green Cardamom powdered 2 Tb
  5. Powdered mixed nuts 100 gm
  6. 4-5 almonds sliced for garnishing
  7. 4-5 pistachios sliced for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Tear the bread slices into small pieces and dry ground them into crumbs/powder
  2. Melt the jaggery using 2 Tb milk and keep aside
  3. Heat ghee in a non stick pan/wok and add the bread crumbs
  4. Sauté on Low heat till breads crumbs turn golden in colour
  5. Add the cardamom powder and mixed nuts. mix well
  6. Finally add the jaggery syrup and combine well
  7. Take off heat once the halwa starts leaving the sides of the pan
  8. Serve warm garnished with almonds and pistachios
