ABOUT Aloo Naan RECIPE

When I was in India almost all my close relatives tasted it and it was always a hit. You can surprise your guests also by trying something different.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For the dough:
  2. 2 cups maida
  3. 1 tbsp yeast
  4. 1/4 cup lukewarm milk
  5. 2 tsp sugar
  6. 2 tsp oil
  7. Water to make dough
  8. Salt to taste
  9. for the stuffing:
  10. 2 medium boiled potatoes
  11. 1 medium onion chopped
  12. 2 green chili chopped
  13. 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves
  14. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  15. 2 tsp garam masala
  16. 1 tsp amchoor powder
  17. Salt to taste
  18. Dry flour (maida) for rolling the dumplings
  19. For greasing:
  20. oil
  21. butter
  22. Chopped, coriander leaves
  23. Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Add milk, oil, sugar and salt to yeast and leave for 10 minutes so that it is activated and double in size.
  2. Add maida to this with water and make a soft dough. Cover it and keep in a warm place preferably in a microwave or oven at least for 1 hour.
  3. It will double in volume, again knead the dough.
  4. Mix all masala spices with mashed potatoes, stuffing is ready. Take a dumpling, tap with dry flour and roll it 2 inch, fill stuffing of aloo masala. Now close it from all sides by pulling the dumpling and roll it or you can tap it by using two hands.
  5. Preheat oven for 10 minutes. Coat oil on one side of naan and bake for 5 minutes.
  6. When it turns golden color flip it and coat with oil, sesame seeds and chopped coriander and bake it. When it turns golden in color, remove from oven and coat with butter.
  7. Serve hot with curd and pickle.
