Everyone at my home love to have churma laddus. One big dabba of the laddus get over very fast! My Mumma makes it in a bit different way where instead of frying the muthiyas for the laddus we roast bhakharis on tava and make it healthy. This is a very healthy and easy way to make churma laddus above all its favorite among all of us in the family.

Ingredients to make Churma laddus

  • 4 cups whole wheat flour coarse
  • 2 tbsp besan
  • 3 tbsp chirotti rava
  • 2 cups kohlapuri jaggery
  • 1&1/2 cup ghee or more if needed
  • 1 cup lukewarm milk add more if needed
  • 3-4 tbsp dry fruit powder
  • 1 tbsp nutmeg and cardamom powder
  • poppy seeds for garnishing

How to make Churma laddus

  1. Mix wheat flour + besan + rava+ ghee 2 tbsp + milk to make hard and smooth dough of Bhakhri.
  2. Divide dough into 4 balls and make bhakhris of it and make impressions of belan on one side of the bhakhari (refer pic)
  3. Roast it on hot tava on low heat.
  4. Let the roasted bhakharis cool and then crush into coarse powder in mixture.
  5. Heat jaggery grated and ghee to make a smooth mixture.
  6. Add this mixture to the above crushed bhakharis.
  7. Now add the nutmeg and cardamom powder and dry fruit powder to it.
  8. Mix well and shape small laddoos with Mould or hands.
  9. Apply the poppy seeds on the laddus.

My Tip:

Have added dry fruit powder you can add whole nuts of your choice also.
