Tawa pulao

Ingredients to make Tawa pulao

  • carrot -1
  • Beans -4
  • potato -1
  • onion -1
  • tomato -1
  • peas -1 handful
  • capsicum -1
  • coriander Leaves - To Garnish
  • green chilly -4
  • ginger garlic paste -1 teaspoon
  • cumin seeds -1/2 teaspoon
  • Pav baji masala
  • chilly powder
  • salt - as needed
  • Basmati rice -1 cup
  • water - 2 cups
  • Ghee or butter -2 tablespoon

How to make Tawa pulao

  1. Wash and soak basmati rice for 15 minutes. Cook it till al dente without making it mushy . Cool it completely.
  2. Wash and cube the veggies ( carrot, beans, potato, peas) . Boil it and don't make it too soft.keep this aside.
  3. Wash and chop onion, tomato, capsicum. Keep this aside.
  4. Take a pan and heat ghee or butter.add cumin seeds and saute till they begin to crackle.
  5. Add green chillies and onion and saute till it turns translucent.
  6. Add ginger garlic paste and saute till raw smell goes away completely.
  7. Add tomatoes and cook till it becomes mushy.
  8. Add pav bhaji masala powder , red chilly powder , salt and mix it well. Sprinkle 2 teaspoon of water and cook the masala until water evaporates.
  9. Add capsicum and saute 2 to 3 minutes.
  10. Add the boiled veggies and mix well. Saute for 3 minutes.
  11. Add cooked basmati rice.mix well. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve tawa pulao hot.

My Tip:

Green chillies can be skipped if preparing for a kids.
