Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Dhuli moong and masar dal mix 1/2 cup washed
  2. Ghee 1 tablespoon
  3. Salt to taste
  4. Turmeric powder 1 teaspoon
  5. Green chilli 2 slitted
  6. Water 2 cup
  7. For dal 1st tempering:
  8. Ghee 2 tablespoon
  9. Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon
  10. Onion 1 chopped
  11. Ginger 2 teaspoon chopped
  12. Garlic 2 tablespoon chopped
  13. Tomato 1 chopped
  14. For dal 2nd tempering:
  15. Ghee 1 tablespoon
  16. Mustard seed 1 teaspoon
  17. Red chili powder 2 teaspoon
  18. Garam masala 1 teaspoon
  19. FOR GARNISH:
  20. coriander leaves chopped
  21. For papad rolls:
  22. 5 papad
  23. For ghee roti:
  24. Dough for making chapati
  25. Ghee for applying

Instructions

  1. Put the dal ,water, salt, turmeric powder,green chillies,ghee. Into a pressure cooker.
  2. Cook til 2 whistles. When pressure is released from cooker open this. If needed add some water.
  3. Now add ghee in another pan add cumin seeds, garlic and saute it. Add ginger and chopped onion, saute it till golden brown. Add chopped tomatoes and cook till it leaves the ghee.
  4. Pour this tempering over the dal and mix well.
  5. For second tempering pour dal in the serving bowl. Add coriander leaves. Add ghee to a pan add mustard seed , red chili powder, and garam masala powder. Fry for 1 minute and pour this over dal.
  6. For roasted papad rolls heat a tawa and roast papad on this from both sides.
  7. When it is done roll it carefully.and put under a spatula for 1 minute.
  8. Make other papad in the same way. Your papad rolls are ready.
  9. Now make balls from dough and Flatten. Make chapatis and roast on tawa. Apply ghee on cooked chapati. Your ghee roti is ready.
  10. Serve your yellow dal tadka with ghee roti, papad rolls, pickle and mint chutney. Your comfort meal is ready.
