Fara gives me nostlgic feeling , when ever i feel low ..used to make this easy recipe .and feel good .

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Wheat flour 2 cups
  2. Soaked chana dal 1 cup
  3. Coriander powder 2 teaspoon
  4. Garam masala 1 teaspoon
  5. Mango powder 1 teaspoon
  6. Red chilli powder 1 /2teaspoon
  7. Turmeric powder 1/2teaspoon
  8. Salt to taste
  9. Water to kneed dough
  10. Oil to fry
  11. For tampering
  12. Green chillies 3 slited
  13. Mustard seeds 1 teaspoon
  14. Seasme seeds 1 teaspoon
  15. Curry leaves 5

Instructions

  1. Take a grinder add all dry spices and salt and chana dal together and grind it and make a smooth paste .
  2. Now take a big deep bowl add flour and water and Make a soft dough .
  3. Keep aside for 10 minutes .
  4. Now make small balls from dough .
  5. Roll them like poori.or 2 inch diameter
  6. Now take a poori ,add 1 table spoon grounded dal mixture in the poori
  7. Fold this poori like gujhia
  8. Make all fara like this .
  9. And steam for 15 minutes in idli cooker .
  10. Keep aside for cooling .
  11. Cut into pieces after cooling .
  12. Heat oil in a wok.and fry them till golden and crisp .
  13. Take it out on tissue paper to absorb extra oil .
  14. Take another pan add 1 table spoon oil in it and crackle masturd seeds ,green chillies , curry leaves .
  15. Add fried fara in the tadka pan .And stir well for 2 minutes .
  16. Serve with clarified ghee or with sweet curd .Or with green chutney .
