ABOUT Wacky Chocolate Cake (Egg less) RECIPE

This is the cake my daughter chose to bake for father’s day. It's a simple and easy to bake egg less cake with ingredients that are generally available in your pantry. It is called a Wacky or Crazy cake because it is a “mix in the pan” type of cake.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 1 and ½ cup all purpose flour
  2. 1 cup sugar
  3. 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  4. 75 gms (1/3 cup) butter
  5. 1 cup warm water
  6. 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  7. 1 teaspoon baking powder
  8. 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  9. 1/4 teaspoon salt
  10. 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  11. Ganache Ingredients:-
  12. 100 gms dark chocolate
  13. 4 tablespoons low fat cream


  1. Preheat the oven at 180 degrees Celsius. Grease and line an 8 inch round cake tin.
  2. Blend together a mixture of the ingredients, flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  3. Take another bowl and mix thoroughly the butter, water, vanilla essence and vinegar.
  4. Add the dry and wet ingredients together until finely blended.
  5. Bake for 30 minutes or check by inserting a toothpick in the centre and check if it comes out clean.
  6. Remove the cake from the oven and keep it in a wire rack to cool.
  7. Ganache Preparation method:-
  8. Heat the chocolate and cream together in a heavy bottom pan on a small flame.
  9. Stir the mixture constantly until the chocolate melts.
  10. Take the pan off the heat and stir briskly until it becomes smooth and shiny. The ganache will thicken as it cools down.
  11. Pour the ganache evenly on the cake.
