Kesariya Phirni

Ingredients to make Kesariya Phirni

  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup rice paste
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • Pinch of saffron
  • 1 drop rose water
  • pistachio, chopped for garnishing
  • Silver Varak for garnishing

How to make Kesariya Phirni

  1. Boil the milk and reduce it for 20 minutes.
  2. Add sugar and rice paste. Let it boil again and keep stirring continuously for 15 minutes. Make sure that no lumps are formed and simmer the flame as soon as the mixture begins to thicken.
  3. Add saffron and mix.
  4. Turn off the gas, sprinkle rose water.
  5. Pour this hot phirni in a earthen pot and keep aside to cool complete, this takes about 30 minutes.
  6. Garnish with chopped pistachios and silver varak. Keep in refrigerator.
  7. Serve chilled.
