About Jackfruit Fry Recipe

The jackfruit is starchy and fibrous, and is a source of dietary fiber. The flavor is similar to a tart banana. Try it out and let me know.

Jackfruit Fry

Ingredients to make Jackfruit Fry

  • Jackfruit flesh 3 cups (unripe)
  • onion 1 medium, chopoed
  • potatoes 2 medium, chopped
  • curry leaves
  • coriander leaves chopped 1/4 cup
  • garlic 3 cloves, choped
  • red chilli powder 1 tbsp
  • salt 1 tsp
  • Garam masala 1 tsp
  • turmeric powder 1
  • cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • olive oil / veg. oil 3 tsp

How to make Jackfruit Fry

  1. In a pan add oil and saute chopped potatoes on medium flame till potatoes obtain light brown color.
  2. Similarly, saute chopped Jackfruit flesh on medium flame.
  3. In another pan add oil, once oil get hot, add cumin and mustard seeds, curry leaves and let it splutter.
  4. Now add chopped onions, garlic and saute till onions gets light brown color.
  5. To the cooked onion add red chilli powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, salt and mix all very well.
  6. To the prepared masala add sauted jackfruit flesh and potatoes and saute all well and cook for 10 minutes.
  7. Once done garnish it with fine chopped coriander, and serve hot with chapati, roti or rice.

My Tip:

Spray some lemon juice over prepared curry to enhance the taste.
