This is a delicious biryani made with jack fruits, to be served with some raita on the side.

Ingredients to make Kathal Briyani With Pudina Raita

  • Kathal Or Raw Jack fruit 1/2 kg
  • Cooked rice one and half cup
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tsp green chilli paste
  • 2 tsp Shahi Briyani masala
  • 3 Medium Size onion Thinly sliced
  • ghee 1bsp
  • haldi 1 tsp
  • jeera powder 1 tsp
  • Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Dhaniya powder 1 tsp
  • tomatoes 3 chopped
  • 1 capsicum chopped
  • yogurt 4 tbsp
  • malai or fresh cream 2 tbsp
  • kesar Milk 1/2 cup
  • Dhaniya for sprinkling
  • Deep fry Golden Brown onion 1 cup

How to make Kathal Briyani With Pudina Raita

  1. For Kathal or Jack fruit, First cut the kathal with putting oil on knife then wash and deep fry till Golden brown and completely drain the oil and keep aside..
  2. Pan add ghee when hot add ginger garlic paste when little brown add green chilli paste and then add Shahi Briyani Masala and Cooked for 2 min then on sim gas add onions, when onions turn brown add tomatoes and capsicum and all sukha masala as oil leaves add dahi and malai and mix nicely when boil comes off gas and keep in side.. When mixture cools down grind the mixture in finely paste..
  3. In that same pan add deep fry kathal peices, then grinded mixture dhaniya.. Kesar milk(heat 7 to 8 kesar in milk) and off gas.. Gravy is ready...
  4. Now Take a microwave safe bowl add kathal gravy, then rice, deep fry onion.. Same two times and at last sprinkle deep fry onion and microwave for 2 min before serving...
  5. For Pudina Raita, Take 1 medium Katori dahi, Beet nicely Then add salt according to taste, Pinch black pepper and red chilli powder, 1 tsp bhua jeera powder and 3 tbsp pudina patte grinded with little water... Mix nicely n serve with Briyani...

My Tip:

Always use basmati rice for Briyani don't cook full always cook half..
