Banana flower vada

Ingredients to make Banana flower vada

  • banana flower-1 clan and cut into small pieces
  • chana dal -100 gram
  • onion -1 chopped
  • red chilli-2
  • turmeric-1/2 tablespoon
  • cumin seeds -1 tablespoon
  • fennel seeds -1 tablespoon
  • coriander leaves- small amount chopped
  • curry leaves - small amount chopped
  • salt - as per taste
  • oil - for frying

How to make Banana flower vada

  1. ingredients
  2. wash and soak the Chana dal for at least 2 hrs.
  3. Take tender banana flower clean and cut in to small pieces . Now cook the chopped banana flower by adding water, salt, and turmeric powder
  4. After 2 hrs drain the water completely from the dal and add Red chilly, cumin seeds, fennel seeds , turmeric powder and salt just grind them for 3-4 seconds.

  6. Now grind the cooked banana just 3-4 seconds and mix with dal . do not grind the banana flower like paste. it should be slightly coarse.
  7. Now add the chopped onion, chopped coriander leaves, chopped curry leaves and salt . mix everything well.
  8. Take small ball size batter and flatten it with your finger to make a small round shape.
  9. heat oil in a kadai , once the oil is hot , reduce the heat and put the prepared round shape batter in to the oil
  10. Fry both sides until chafe in to brown . Now remove from oil and place it on the paper towel to remove excess oil
  11. Now the delicious Banana flower Vada is ready . Enjoy with your tea, coffee or with sambas rice and rasa rice..
