Crispy Lady Finger

Ingredients to make Crispy Lady Finger

  • 200 gms ladyfinger/ okra/ bhindi
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala/ chicken masala/ kitchen king masala
  • 1/2 tsp chaat masala
  • 5 - 6 tbsp chickpea flour/ besan
  • salt to taste

How to make Crispy Lady Finger

  1. Wash and dry the okra, then slit it lengthwise into 4 pieces.
  2. Take the okra in a bowl and add the remaining ingredients. Mix it well.
  3. The okra should be completely covered with the spices and chickpea flour. Set it aside for 10 - 15 mins.
  4. On a tawa heat a little oil and shallow fry the okra, a little at a time till its crisp.
  5. Serve hot as an accompaniment with rice or rotis.

My Tip:

Do not deep fry as the seeds remain in the oil and get burnt which spoils the taste of the entire dish.
