ABOUT Banana Flower Crispy Pakoda RECIPE

Banana flower pakoda is something one should try without fail. It's so simple like any other pakoda's but it has to be well treated before mixing with flours. Banana flower is cleaned well and dried on tissue paper. No extra moisture should not be present.Saute flower in little oil and let it cool for few minutes. Besan flour(gram flour) rice flour, onion,curry leaves, coriander leaves, chilli powder, asafoetida and salt to taste are added together with little water and fried in medium hot oil for few minutes. Tasty crispy banana flower pakoda is ready to consume.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Banana flower 1/4 from whole
  2. Onion 1
  3. Gram flour 1/2 cup
  4. Rice flour 1 tablespoon
  5. Chilli powder 1teaspoon
  6. Asafoetida 2pinch
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Curry leaves 2 sprigs
  9. Coriander leaves 1 fistful
  10. Oil for frying and sauteeing
  11. Water to Sprinkle

Instructions

  1. Clean banana flower well and dry till moisture evaporates.
  2. Heat oil in a wok and saute banana flower.
  3. Keep it aside and let it completely cool.
  4. Take a bowl add gram flour, rice flour, chilli powder, asafoetida and salt to taste.
  5. Add cooled banana flower.
  6. Mix banana flower with the flour mixture Add thinly sliced onion.
  7. Mix well by sprinkling little water. Add chopped curry leaves and coriander leaves.
  8. Fry on a medium flame for few minutes till it's crisp and golden brown.
  9. When it's done transfer it on to tissue paper to absorb oil.
  10. Serve it on a clean banana flower skin. Presentation will look different.
