About Red fish curry. Recipe

Kerala fish curry , goes well with plain rice.

Red fish curry.

Ingredients to make Red fish curry.

  • Any fish 1/2 kg
  • Grind together
  • shallots 20
  • Red chillies 15
  • garlic 5 cloves
  • ginger a small piece.
  • To add in gravy.
  • Chopped tomatoes 1
  • tamarind pulp 2 tbsp
  • Kashmiri chilli powder 1/2 tsp to add colour (optional )
  • salt.
  • coconut Oil 3 tbsp

How to make Red fish curry.

  1. Clean fish.
  2. Grind the ingredients given to a fine paste adding very little water.
  3. Heat 2 tbsp oil. Fry ground mixture well .add tomato sliced.
  4. Fry for about 5 min, till raw taste goes & tomato is well mashed.
  5. Add fish along with tamarind pulp , salt,turmeric, kashmiri chilli powder & some water enough to cook fish.
  6. Close & cook till fish is cooked.
  7. Add some coconut oil & curry leaves . Stir.
  8. Serve hot with plain rice.

My Tip:

We can make this curry with any type of fish. I used small fish.
