Toor dal curry

Ingredients to make Toor dal curry

  • Toor dal : 1 cup
  • shallots : 5
  • garlic : 5
  • tomato : 1
  • Brinjal : 1
  • Green chilli 2
  • Red chilli 1
  • turmeric Powder ½ tsp
  • cumin seeds : ½ tep
  • mustard seeds ½ tsp
  • garlic 5
  • oil 2 tsp
  • tamarind : small size
  • curry leaves
  • Grated coconut : 2 tsp

How to make Toor dal curry

  1. Soke the tamarind for 10 mins
  2. In a Pressure cooker add toor dal, tomato, green chillies, garlic, shallots, brinjal, required water and cook for 15 min over medium flame.
  3. Transfer the dal into another pan add turmeric powder, cumin powder, salt, required water and mix well.
  4. Add tamarind water and cook for 5 min Heat oil in a pan add mustard, cumin seeds.
  5. Let them crackle  for a minute and add red chilli, curry leaves and add it to the above dal mixture.
  6. Add grated coconut and mix well
