I tried this innovation with kalakand, using Apple and kesari chenna. It came out as lovely to eat as lovely to look also.

Ingredients to make Kesari Apple kalakand

  • For kesari Chenna
  • 1/2 litre full cream milk
  • 4-5 tbsp yogurt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • few drops orange food colour
  • Rest ingredients
  • 1/2 litre full cream milk
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 apple peeled and grated
  • Chopped pistachios, for garnish

How to make Kesari Apple kalakand

  1. First to make kesari chenna, take milk in a thick bottom pan and let it come to boil.
  2. Add curd when it starts boiling till chenna separates from whey.
  3. Add sugar and orange food colour and keep stirring till the whey evaporates and we get a kesari chenna.
  4. In another pan take rest of the milk and let it simmer on low flame till it gets thicker and remains nearly half of original quantity.
  5. Add cardamom powder and kesari chenna and mix well.
  6. Add peeled and grated apple and mix it well.
  7. Keep the mixture stirring till it gets thick and comes as a whole.
  8. Put the mix in a greased plate and keep the thickness at least 1 inch.
  9. Garnish with chopped pistachios and keep it to cool.
  10. Cut into desired shapes when it cools.
