About Sookhi Urad Dal Recipe

Easy tangy dal with a twist

Sookhi Urad Dal

Ingredients to make Sookhi Urad Dal

  • urad dal. 1 cup
  • onions chopped 2 no.
  • ginger Garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • turmeric 1/2 tsp
  • red chilli 1/2tsp
  • Corriander 1 tsp
  • tamarind paste 2 tbsp
  • Green corrianderpaste 2 tbsp
  • ghee 3 tbsp + 2tbsp
  • salt to taste
  • Corriander for garnish
  • cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
  • green chillies 2 cut in slits

How to make Sookhi Urad Dal

  1. Clean wash and soak dal for half an hour.
  2. In a pan add ghee and chopped onion once they change their colour to golden brown add turmeric, chilli, coriander.mix well.
  3. Now add paste of coriander and tamarind.mix well.
  4. Once it release oil on sides add dal and cover it for Fifteen mins.if dal is not cooked you can again cover it and leave until it is cooked completely
  5. Now in another pan add ghee ,cumin and green chillies .put this on the cooked dal.
  6. Sprinkle corriander and serve hot.

My Tip:

You can make it sookhi or dry
