Broken wheat payasa ( sweet dish)
Ingredients to make Broken wheat payasa ( sweet dish)
- Polished wheat __ 1/4 kg
- jaggery powder __1/4 kg
- Poppy seeds___ 1 tsp
- cardamom seeds__ 8
- cloves ___ 2
- Nut mug __ 1/4 portion
- Dry grated coconut powder_ 2tsp
- cashew nuts __ 6_8
How to make Broken wheat payasa ( sweet dish)
Soak wheat overnight. Next day
Add 6 cup water to soaked wheat and boil it in cooker.
It requires 12 whistles to boil on a medium flame.
(Don't keep on a high flame] .
Pour one cup water inside cooker then keep utensil & cover with lid.
Allow it to cool after cook.
Smash it with a wooden dal smash making spoon. Add jaggery powder and keep it to boil.
Let it boil and jaggery and wheat should mix well.
Boil for ten minutes.
Roast poppy seeds , cardamom seeds , cloves , nutmeg & make a powder & add this to boiling wheat.
Add dry grated coconut powder.
Decorate with chopped cashew nuts or cashew nuts roasted in ghee too can add.
Serve hot with ghee and milk..
