  • Gram dal soaked 1 cup
  • Grated coconut 2 cup
  • jaggery 1 cup
  • salt a pinch
  • cardamom powder 1/2 tsp
  • water
  • raisins few

How to make Gram Dal Payasam

  1. 1 HOUR SOAKED GRAM DAL, ADD WATER AND COOK
  2. STIR OCCASIONALLY AND COOK UNTIL SMOOTH
  3. AFTER WELL COOK ADD JAGGERY
  4. STIR TILL JAGGERY GETS DISSOLVED
  5. ADD WATER AND GRIND COARSELY THE GRATED COCONUT
  6. STRAIN THE COCONUT MILK
  7. CARDAMOM POWDER, A PINCH OF SALT, IF NECESSARY ADD WATER
  8. ALLOW IT TO BOIL WELL, ADD RAISINS, TURN OFF THE FLAME
