About Gongura Chicken Curry Recipe

Andra Chicken curry with sorrel leaves (gongura leaves) Delicious,Serve with hot steamed rice.

Gongura Chicken Curry

Ingredients to make Gongura Chicken Curry

  • chicken - 1/2 kg
  • sorrel leaves - 1 bunch
  • chopped onion big 1+1
  • green chilli - 4
  • chopped ginger garlic - each 1 tbsp
  • ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
  • turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Red chilli & cumin powder - each 1 tsp
  • coriander powder - 2 tsp
  • garam masala - 1/2 tsp
  • oil - 2+2 tbsp
  • salt - to taste.

How to make Gongura Chicken Curry

  1. Clean sorrel leaves ,wash thoroughly and chop it. And also rinse the cleaned chicken and drain it.
  2. Heat 2 tbsp oil, saute the chopped sorrel leaves with chopped ginger garlic, chopped onion and green chillies, add salt to taste.Cool and grind it.
  3. Again heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan add one chopped onion saute till golden brown.Add ginger garlic paste and turmeric powder, stir well.
  4. Add chicken and salt to taste, saute it well.Then add all masala powders, stir well.Pour half cup water , close and cook till soft.
  5. Open the pan and add ground gongura paste, mix well and cook for few minutes. Ready, Gongura chicken curry! Delicious !

My Tip:

Add more red chilli powder and green chilli for making it spicy.
