ABOUT Thattai RECIPE

These are easy rice flour murukkus, made to be served with the evening tea.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Rice flour 1 cup
  2. roasted gram 2 table spoon
  3. Bengal gram 1 table spoon
  4. Grated coconut 2 table spoon
  5. butter 1 table spoon
  6. Pepper powder 1 tea spoon
  7. chilly powder 1 tea spoon
  8. salt [as required]

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak the bengal gram for 30 minutes.
  2. Strain and mix all the ingredients in a mixer grinder jar. Grind to form a thick batter.
  3. Now take small portions of the batter, flatten them between palms to form the murukkus.
  4. Heat some oil in a kadhai and fry the murrukus. Cool and store.
