About Thattai Recipe

These are easy rice flour murukkus, made to be served with the evening tea.

Ingredients to make Thattai

  • Rice flour 1 cup
  • roasted gram 2 table spoon
  • Bengal gram 1 table spoon
  • Grated coconut 2 table spoon
  • butter 1 table spoon
  • pepper powder 1 tea spoon
  • Chilly powder 1 tea spoon
  • salt [as required]

How to make Thattai

  1. Wash and soak the bengal gram for 30 minutes.
  2. Strain and mix all the ingredients in a mixer grinder jar. Grind to form a thick batter.
  3. Now take small portions of the batter, flatten them between palms to form the murukkus.
  4. Heat some oil in a kadhai and fry the murrukus. Cool and store.
