Green Moong Cutlets

Ingredients to make Green Moong Cutlets

  • green gram / Moong / Mung dal – 1 cup
  • Rice flour – ¼ cup
  • green chillies – 5 small
  • garlic Cloves – 5 small
  • Bread Crumbs – 2 tsp
  • salt – ½ tsp
  • oil for shallow fry – as required

How to make Green Moong Cutlets

  1. Soak 1 cup of Green Moong (Green Gram) for four hrs.
  2. After 4hrs, strain the Moong completely from Water with the help of Sieve (chalni).
  3. In a blender take the Moong, add 5 small green Chillies and 5 small Garlic cloves and blend into coarse paste
  4. In a mixing bowl take the blended Moong paste and add 2 tsp of Bread Crumbs followed by ¼ cup of Rice flour and ½ tsp of Salt and mix nicely.
  5. Then grease your hands with few drops of Oil and start making the small round shaped cutlets and keep aside.
  6. In a heating pan take 5 tsp of Oil and allow it to heat nicely.
  7. Then place all the round cutlets into the pan and simmer on low flame for about 10 Min and then flip all the cutlets.
  8. Then roast all the cutlets from other side on low flame for more 10 Min until turns crispy and gets crispy coating from both the sides.
  9. Moong Cutlet is now ready to serve hot with Tomato Sauce and Mayonnaise.

My Tip:

You can replace Rice flour by Corn flour also. Instead of shallow fry, you can deep-fry the Cutlets. Instead of Bread Crumbs, you can directly use fresh Bread slices also while blending the Moong paste.
