ABOUT Hariyali Chicken RECIPE

This dish Hariyali Chicken specially best on Mint and Coriander leaves and tastes like little sweet and sour combination. Spiceness comes from green chillies and black pepper crushes.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Chicken : 500 grms
  2. Yogurt : 5 tea spoon
  3. Pudina leaves : 1 bunch
  4. Coriander leaves : 1 bunch
  5. Lemon juice : 3 tea spoon
  6. Black pepper powder : 3 tea spoon
  7. Green chillies : 4 to 6 pcs
  8. Cinnamon sticks : 1 medium size
  9. Cardamoms : 4-5 pcs
  10. Cloves : 3-4
  11. Bay leaf : 1 Pc
  12. Ginger paste : 2 tea spoon
  13. Garlic paste : 2 tea spoon
  14. Onion paste : 4 tea spoon
  15. Garam masala powder : 1/2 tea spoon
  16. Sugar : 1/2 tea spoon
  17. Salt : As per taste
  18. Vegetable oil : As much as you required

Instructions

  1. Marination : Arrange the Chicken vin a bowl and cut the skin edges and marinate with 3 tea spoon yogurt, 1 tea spoon salt, 2 tea spoon lemon juice, 1 tea spoon black pepper powder , 1 tea spoon ginger and 1 tea spoon garlic paste. Keep it in freezer for 2 hours.
  2. Preparation of Green Chatni : In a mixing jar add 1 bunch of Coriander leaves, 1 bunch of Pudina leaves, 2 tea spoon of Yogurt, 1 tea spoon lemon juice, 4 to 6 Green Chillies, 1/2 tea spoon salt. Blend well and make smooth and creamy Green Chatni.
  3. Assembling : Heat a Nonstick kadhai or Silver kadhai. (Don't use iron cookware, it will destroy the colour of gravy). Add Vegetable oil, when oil is hot enough add whole garam masala and 1 bay leaf.
  4. Stir till releasing aroma. Now add 4 tea spoon Onion paste stir till it becomes tender then add 1 tea spoon ginger and 1 tea spoon garlic paste.
  5. Stir for couple of minutes then add the marinated chicken. Stir very gently and add the green chatni. Mix well and add 2 cups water. Put your flame in high temperature and cook for 3 minutes.
  6. If you need u can add more enough water for gravy. Now add 1/2 tea spoon of garam masala powder. Balance the taste with salt, sugar.
  7. If you need more spicy you can also add some more black pepper powder. Now put your flame in low heat. Cover the top and keep it in simmer for 10 to 15 minutes. Now switch off your flame and your delicate Hariyali chicken is ready to serve.
