A simple version of curd vadas

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Whole urad dal 1 1/2 cup
  2. Water as per requirement to grind batter
  3. Salt required for vadas
  4. Cooked rice 1/4 cup
  5. Oil to fry vadas
  6. Curd 1 cup
  7. 1/4 cup milk
  8. A pinch of salt
  9. 1 teaspoon of sugar
  10. 1 tablespoon tomato sauce
  11. Fried groundnuts - to decorate
  12. Coriander leaves -to decorate

Instructions

  1. Soak the urad dal for 30 minutes and grind it with cooked rice , required salt and with less water to a thick batter consistency.
  2. Fry the Vadas in hot oil and soak them in warm water for 10 minutes.
  3. In a bowl add curd, milk, salt and sugar and beat well.
  4. Put the soaked Vadas in curd mixture and pour the tomato sauce on top and garnish with fried groundnuts and coriander leaves.
