A simple version of curd vadas

Sweet Curd vadas

Ingredients to make Sweet Curd vadas

  • Whole urad dal 1 1/2 cup
  • water as per requirement to grind batter
  • salt required for vadas
  • Cooked rice 1/4 cup
  • oil to fry vadas
  • curd 1 cup
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon tomato sauce
  • Fried groundnuts - to decorate
  • coriander leaves -to decorate

How to make Sweet Curd vadas

  1. Soak the urad dal for 30 minutes and grind it with cooked rice , required salt and with less water to a thick batter consistency.
  2. Fry the Vadas in hot oil and soak them in warm water for 10 minutes.
  3. In a bowl add curd, milk, salt and sugar and beat well.
  4. Put the soaked Vadas in curd mixture and pour the tomato sauce on top and garnish with fried groundnuts and coriander leaves.

My Tip:

To get soft vadas, soak the fried vadas well in warm water and then add it to the curd mixture.
