Though there are lots of side dishes with idly/dosas.. My all time favourite is this idly podi!!!

Idly podi / molagai podi

Ingredients to make Idly podi / molagai podi

  • Urad daal 3/4th cup
  • chana daal 1/4 th cup (Total 1 cup)
  • red chilli 20 if u want more spice add extra
  • White sesame seeds 2 tbsp.
  • salt as required
  • hing

How to make Idly podi / molagai podi

  1. Method: Very simple. Dry roast all the above ingredient separately except salt and hing. For red Chilli add one tbs oil and crispy fry. Let all cool down. In a blender put all the ingredients with salt and hing grind it coarsely.
  2. Your blender should be dry for this. Keep it open for 15 mins and hen transfer to an airtight box to retain freshness. Enjoy with hot idly/dosa/uttapam.
