About Dhokla Dabeli Sandwich Recipe

Combination of both famous gujarati snacks of dhokla and dabeli. Perfect bites as a starter or snacks for your tea party or evening party.

Dhokla Dabeli Sandwich

Ingredients to make Dhokla Dabeli Sandwich

  • Dhokla batter 500 grams
  • salt 1/8 tsp
  • water as needed
  • For dabeli stuffing :-
  • Boiled potatoes 4
  • Dabeli masala 1 tsp
  • red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Dhaniya jeera powder 1 tsp
  • sesame seeds 1 tsp
  • sugar 1 tsp
  • lemon juice 1 (lemon)
  • salt to taste
  • masala peanuts 2 tbsp
  • Naylon sev 2 tbsp
  • pomegranate pearls 2 tbsp
  • Chopped cashew 7-8
  • raisins 1 tbsp
  • Chooped Green garlic 1 tsp
  • Chopped coriander leaves 1 tsp
  • Grated dry coconut 1 tsp
  • Green chatni 1 tsp
  • Cheese 1 cup
  • for Tadka :-
  • oil 2 tbs
  • mustard seeds 1/4 tsp
  • cumin seeds 1/4 tsp
  • asafoetida 1/8 tsp
  • sesame seeds 1 tsp
  • curry leaves 5-6
  • Chopped red chilli 2
  • Chopped green chilli 2
  • For serving :- ( as your choice)
  • Green chatni
  • tamarind chatni
  • Naylon sev
  • pomegranate pearls
  • masala peanuts

How to make Dhokla Dabeli Sandwich

  1. Heat dhokla cooker with enough water to make dhokla sheets.
  2. Take dhokla batter add salt and little water if required.
  3. Mix well and pour half batter in greased plate .
  4. Then left into dhokla cooker and cook for 10 to 15 minutes.
  5. Make another dhokla sheet as a same way.
  6. For dabeli stuffing :- take a bowl add boiled and peeled potatoes, salt, red chilli powder, dhaniya jeera powder, sugar, lemon juice, dabeli masala, sesame seeds, dry coconut, cashew, raisin, masala peanuts, green chatni, green garlic.
  7. Mix it well and keep aside.
  8. Now demold dhokla sheet.
  9. Spread green chatni on one sheet.
  10. Spread dabeli stuffing on sheet.
  11. Spread grated cheese, masala peanuts, pomegranate pearls, green garlic, coriander leaves.
  12. Sprinkle some nahin sev on top.
  13. Spread tamarind chatni on second sheet.
  14. Give cut on dhokla as your wish.
  15. For tadka heat oil in kadai then add mustard seeds, cumin seeds for tempering.
  16. Add asafoetida, chillies, curry patta, and sesame seeds.
  17. Pour tadka on dhokla sheets.
  18. Serve dhokla dabeli sandwich with chatni, sev and pomegranate.
