About Cabbage Kachumber Recipe

Cabbage kachumber is a regular and a great accompaniment in every Gujarati's house...I love it soo much that at times I just eat it plain...its very imp to serve it immediately.

Cabbage Kachumber

Ingredients to make Cabbage Kachumber

  • 3 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1 1/2 tsp oil
  • 3/4 tsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
  • 1/4 tsp asafoetida (hing)
  • 12 curry leaves (kadi patta)
  • 3 slit green chillies
  • salt to taste
  • 3/4 tsp coriander seeds powder
  • 3/4 tsp sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp lemon juice

How to make Cabbage Kachumber

  1. Heat the oil in a broad non-stick pan and add the mustard seeds.
  2. When the seeds crackle, add the asafoetida, curry leaves and green chillies and sauté on a medium flame for 30 seconds.
  3. .Add the cabbage and salt, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes, while stirring once in between.
  4. Add the coriander seeds powder, sugar and lemon juice, mix well and cook on a medium flame for1 minute, while stirring once in between.
  5. Serve immediately.
