Almonds are very good for health. here is the Vrat special recipe for this Navaratri.

Badam Halwa | Almond Halwa

Ingredients to make Badam Halwa | Almond Halwa

  • Soaked almonds / Badam – ½ cup
  • Milk – 2 cup
  • sugar – ½ cup
  • clarified butter / Desi ghee – 2 tsp
  • saffron (Kesar) for garnishing

How to make Badam Halwa | Almond Halwa

  1. Take ½ cup of Almonds (Badam) in a bowl and soak it overnight or soak in hot water for 2 hours.
  2. Drain the Water from Almonds completely with the help of sieve.
  3. Take the drained Almonds into the grinder and grind into coarse paste. (Add 3 tsp of Water if required for grinding)
  4. In a preheated pan, add 2 tsp of Ghee and allow it to heat.
  5. Then add Almonds coarse paste and roast until color changes (Approx. 10 Min it takes)
  6. Roast on low flame until paste turns into the powdered form.
  7. Then add 2 cups of Milk and keep on stirring continuously.
  8. Cover the lid and allow it to cook on low flame and keep on stirring in between occasionally.
  9. When Milk is reduced down, add ½ cup of Sugar and stir for another 5 – 6 Min.
  10. Badam Halwa is ready to serve hot and garnish with Saffron (Kesar).
