Aratikaya bajji(raw plantain fritters)

Ingredients to make Aratikaya bajji(raw plantain fritters)

  • Raw plaintain - 2, peeled and sliced lengthwise or roundels
  • chickpea flour - 300gms,
  • Red chili powder - as per taste,
  • salt - as per taste
  • oil for deep frying
  • turmeric - a pinch
  • asafoetida - a pinch
  • water for soaking the cut plaintain and mixing the batter

How to make Aratikaya bajji(raw plantain fritters)

  1. Heat oil in a kadai, keep the flame moderate,
  2. Mix the chickpea flour with water, chili powder, salt , turmeric powder, asafetida and a spoon of heated oil in it. Mix it well to a dropping consistency,
  3. Now dip each plantain piece in the batter and drop in the heated oil , fry till they turn golden brown and then serve hot with yerra karam(red chili chutney) or sauce of your choice. This can be prepared very fast and easily. Plantains are rich in fibre, magnesium and pottasium, very good for digestive problems., And easy to digest.

My Tip:

Mix the batter rightly in dropping firm consistency
