About Mango Firni Recipe

Phirni is a popular north indian sweet pudding made with rice, milk and dry fruits. there are a few variations of phirni and this mango phirni is one such variation. phirni is a must in most north indian weddings or festive occasions or special celebrations like Diwali . Phirni is a common dessert accompanied with Biriyani also.

Mango Firni

Ingredients to make Mango Firni

  • basmati rice or Gobindo Bhog rice -1/4 cup
  • mango purée -1 cup
  • Milk -1 ltr
  • sugar-1/2 cup as per taste
  • green cardamoms crushed -5-6 nos
  • Rose water -1/2 tbsp
  • Metha itar ( optional ) -1 drop
  • kesar milk -1/2 cup
  • Crushed nuts of ur choice

How to make Mango Firni

  1. Soak the rice for 30 mins in water then spread it in a plate and let the grains dry. you can also spread it on a small kitchen towel.
  2. Now grind the rice finely leaving little granules and keep it aside .
  3. chopped the slices of the mango and make the pulp .
  4. In a deep pan boil the milk in a low flame with cardamoms , after sometime add the rice powder and cook slowly until the rice boils properly and gives a greasy texture .
  5. add sugar , keser milk and cook slowly until it gives u a dry and creamy looks .
  6. Off the flame and set it for cooling
  7. once it cool down add rose water or metha itar and mix it properly .
  8. Add the mango pulp and finely mix it , put some nuts and refrigerate for 40 mins .
  9. The delicious sweet delicacy is ready to melt your heart
