About Instant farali Handvo Recipe

Handvo is a traditional gujrati savoury i am sharing instant and quick farali handvo for festival like Navratri and mahashivratri.

Instant farali Handvo

Ingredients to make Instant farali Handvo

  • 1 cup moraiyo/samo rice
  • 1/2 cup topiaco sago/sabudana
  • 1-2 cup butter milk
  • sendha namak as per taste
  • 1/2 tsp soda
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped coriander
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 4 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 7_8 curry leaves
  • 1 tbsp chilli ginger paste

How to make Instant farali Handvo

  1. Add moraiyo and sabudana in a mixture jar.
  2. Make a coarse powder. Take powder in a bowl.
  3. Add butter milk and make a batter (like idli batter).
  4. Add chilli ginger garlic paste, haldi powder,coriander,rock salt mix all ingredients well.
  5. Rest it for a 15 minutes.
  6. After 15 minutes add soda in batter and mix well.
  7. In a pan,add oil.
  8. Once oil hot enough,add cumin seeds,curry leaves and Sesame seeds.
  9. Add batter in a pan spread evenely.
  10. Cover the pan let handvo cook from one side.
  11. Meanwhile grease a plate . Remove the lid after 10 minutes.
  12. Flip the handvo on grease plate.
  13. And cook again from other side for 5 minutes till crispy and golden in colour.
  14. Once both side cook,take handvo in serving plate.
  15. Serve with farali chutney.

My Tip:

You can also add bittergourd (lauki)in batter.
