Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Kodo millet - 1 cup
  2. Brown rice - ½ cup
  3. Parboiled rice - ½ cup
  4. Urad dal - ½ cup
  5. Salt to taste
  6. Fenugreek seeds - 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. Soak dal, millet, and rice - all seperately for 2-3 hours. Soak fenugreek seeds along with rice.
  2. Then grind urad daal seperately in grinder and keep it aside.
  3. Grind millet, rice and fenugreek seeds in the blender. Add this to the urad dal batter. keep aside for fermentation for 6-7 hours, according to the temperature.
  4. Fermentation will make the batter to rise, then add salt as required. It is ready to make idly and dosa.
  5. Grease idli plates with a little oil. pour batter into the mould and steam it for around 8 minutes. Now remove the lid, and take out idlis to eat.
