About desi eggy balls( pithas) Recipe

A traditional Bihari dish from India loved by kids and young ones eaten with fried or with bangan ki sabzi

Ingredients to make desi eggy balls( pithas)

  • 1 kg. rice soaked in water or an hour
  • 200 GMs chana dal soaked in water
  • 1sp salt chilly powder
  • 1/2 spoons turmeric powder
  • 1 or 2 green chilly
  • some coriander leaves

How to make desi eggy balls( pithas)

  1. churn soaked rice and chana dal seperatly into paste they should be thick amd not in flowing consistency
  2. inform dough from churned rice by heating it frequently
  3. Now mix spices in chana dal with coriander leaves
  4. Take some rice dough and pat it on your palm to flatten it
  5. with the help of spoon keep chana dal mix in middle and make it onto semicircle form or egg form
  6. now give it a steam for 20 min
  7. serve it as it is or cut it into small pieces and fry it

My Tip:

Rice dough should be fine and chana batter should be thick so that there is is no difficulty in filling it
