About Wattlappam Recipe

Wattlappam is a famous and delicious dessert prepared with eggs. It is a srilankan recipe and  very famous in Srilanka and Tamilnadu among muslims on Eid celebrations.

Wattlappam

Ingredients to make Wattlappam

  • 10 eggs
  • 400 gms sugar
  • 50ml milk
  • 50 ml coconut milk
  • 20 cashews
  • 3 cardamom pounded
  • 10 dry grapes
  • salt required

How to make Wattlappam

  1. In a mixer or using a hand blender , beat the egg and add sugar, milk, coconut milk, salt.
  2. Transfer to a steaming vessel and add Fried cashews, Grapes and 2 tpns of ghee.
  3. Place the vessel in a idli cooker and steam it for about 20 min on medium heat
  4. Now our wattlapam is ready to be served. Serve the slices with idiyappam

My Tip:

Add a tbsp of horlicks or bournvita to enhance the taste
