About sweet kozukkattai Recipe

These are steamed sweet dumplings, made in south Indian style, a perfect sweet dish for all occasions.

Ingredients to make sweet kozukkattai

  • rice flour 1 cup
  • water 1-1/2 cup
  • Grated coconut 1 cup
  • jaggery 2 cups
  • Elaichi [cardamom] powder - 1/2 tsp

How to make sweet kozukkattai

  1. Mix the coconut and jaggery together, heat them in microwave oven for few minutes.
  2. Cook for 10 minutes in the microwave oven, mix well. Cook the mixture again for 15 minutes and then the mixture will be done and dry. Add the elaichi powder and mix well.
  3. Now boil 1.5 cups of water in a kadhai.
  4. Now add the rice flour into the water and mix well, stir vigorously so that there are no lumps.
  5. Let this get cooked for 10 minutes and then cool this mixture.
  6. Make small balls out of the rice flour dough.
  7. Stuff each ball with the sweet mixture and reshape them.
  8. Steam them for 20-25 minutes.
